Faith Formation

The values of the Catholic faith permeate the Saint Mary School experience.  Religion classes focus on the basics of Catholic doctrine through a study of the Bible, the history of the Catholic Church, liturgy and the sacraments.  An appreciation for the Faith is integrated through stories, activities, prayer, discussion, reflections and art.

Students have opportunities to participate in mass as readers, cross bearers, altar servers, presenters of gifts and singers at our weekly liturgies. Students experience other Faith practices such as the Living Rosary, Stations of the Cross, May Crowning, and retreats. In these ways students grow to appreciate their faith and to experience the joy of being a Christian.

Value and beliefs are put into  practice through the service opportunities that are provided.  Visits to Senior Nursing Homes, clothing collections for the poor, creation of Blessing Bags for the homeless, writing Than You Notes to those who serve our country, visits to Feed My Starving Children are just some of the ways in which students shown their faith in the past.
