Why Catholic Schools?


Catholic Schools Week is a nation-wide tradition that began in 1974.  Each year the week-long celebration begins on the last Sunday in January and continues throughout the week.  It is a salute to the considerable achievements of Catholic schools in America.  We welcome everyone…students, parents, alumni, parishioners and teachers and staff to join us for our Open House.

Sunday          Open House after 11:30 Mass
Students will greet parishioners at the door.  They will read their essays at Mass, Bell Choir will play, Student Ambassadors will give tours to new families.  The art show will be in the main hall.  Representatives from band, scouts, athletics, clubs will be available in the lunchroom. 

Monday        Parish and Community appreiation day.
Thank the community, fire and police departments, village, FSO, local businesses for their support of Catholic schools.

Tuesday        Parent appreciation day 
Students take time to appreciate the hard work, love, and efforts of their parents and 
write notes to their parents.

Wednesday Teacher Appreciation Day 
Students take some time to appreciate the hard work of their teachers.  They will write letters to the staff.  The FSO will also thank our teachers by providing the staff with lunch and coverage of recess duty.

Thursday      Students appreciation day – No homework.

Friday            Closing Mass Celebrating a week of Catholic Schools Week, Special food day, non-uniform day.
