Saint Mary School BG last home varsity basketball game was bitter-sweet.  As the team celebrated their victory over Saint Emily’s, 69-63, the varsity eighth graders also realized their time as a team was coming to an end.  For the eighth grade boys and girls, playing basketball and cheering together for 2 years on JV and 2 years on Varsity was an amazing, friendship and team building ride.

Thursday, February 2 was the last home game.  The team played extraordinary with Nick M. scoring 49 of the 69 game points and set a new Saint Mary school record. The Bison began the game in Saint Mary Bison tradition with the eighth grade boys presenting yellow roses to the eighth grade varsity cheerleaders.  The cheerleaders then presented the boys with a medal.

Saint Mary Bison Varsity basketball team has had a fantastic season with seventeen wins. The Bison go onto the conference playoffs starting the week of February 6, 2012.  Congratulations to Saint Mary basketball and cheerleading teams.  GO Bison
